The World Health Organization
This year’s WHO summit tackles persistent health issues across the globe despite major technological developments in the 21st century. Delegates are set to confront issues that plague both the developing and developed worlds. In Topic A, Delegates must determine how the international community should prevent, monitor, and respond to diseases spread by vectors such as mosquitoes. As emerging diseases continue to challenge health systems worldwide, delegates must develop practical and sustainable solutions that strengthen global preparedness. In Topic B, Delegates must evaluate the growing burden that air pollution places on global health and determine how the WHO can encourage cleaner environments while recognizing the different developmental needs of member states. The committee should examine both immediate public health interventions and long-term strategies. The key is to balance different priorities among member states and find solutions that promote both health and sustainable development
