The Disney Hawaiʻi Theme Park Committee
The Disney Hawaiʻi Theme Park Committee will immerse delegates as they serve as senior Disney executives responsible for planning and developing a new Disney theme park on the island of Oʻahu. While creating a world-class destination that captures Disney's signature storytelling and guest experience, delegates must also navigate the unique historical, cultural, environmental, and political landscape of Hawaiʻi. This committee will explore the complex relationship between economic development, Native Hawaiian cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, and corporate responsibility.
Throughout the simulation, delegates will represent different departments within the company, including operations, finance, cultural respect, maintenance, transportation, hospitality, emergency response, and themed lands. Success in committee will depend on delegates' ability to balance Disney's business objectives with respect for Native Hawaiian traditions and concerns. Creative yet practical solutions, effective communication, and teamwork will be essential as participants work to design a park that is financially sustainable, operationally efficient, culturally respectful, and environmentally responsible.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Tristan Rodriguez (He/Him) is a first-year Legal History Major with the ultimate ambition of a career in law. Having started MUN his freshman year of high school, this will be his fifth year participating in Model UN and his fourth time directing a committee. He has already directed this year at USF’s BullsMUN IV, is set to chair the Roman Civil War Committee at UF’s in-person conference, GatorMUN, and is very excited to direct for SwampMUN. Outside of MUN, he is a member of the Dominican Student Association, a judge for the Florida Civics and Debate League, and in the beginning stages of preparation for an eventual Undergraduate Honors Thesis. His hobbies include reading, cooking, and wishing he could afford to play Warhammer 40k.
