Created by the Maastricht Treaty in 1993, the European Union (EU) is an international organization that comprises 27 European countries and governing common economic, social, and security policies within the continent.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Gonzalo Palenzuela (he/him) is a second-year Civil Engineering student at the University of Florida. A Miami native, he is a member of UF Model UN's Executive Board and is well-traveled in both high school and collegiate levels. Outside of MUN, you'll find him escaping to the ocean, some sort of beach, or poorly playing basketball. He is excited to direct his first SwampMUN committee and looks forward to the wonderful ideas that will be shared.
